Your sunblock!! it prevents premature aging by protecting the essential skin proteins, collagen, elastin and keratin not to mention lower the risk of skin cancer.
Do you know the difference between a sunblock and sunscreen?
Sunblock A.K.A physical sunscreen is using minerals ( Titanium dioxide or Zinc) that are laying on top of your skin creating a barrier preventing UVA and UVB from penetrate the skin by reflecting the UV out.
Sunscreen AKA chemical sunscreen contain ingredients ( Oxybenzone, Avobenzone, Octosalate..) that absorb the UV rays. Chemical sunscreens are not recommended for sensitive skin as it can create inflammations within the skin. Make sure when shopping for a chemical sunscreen it says broad spectrum which will protect you from UVA and UVB.
Do you know what SPF stand for?
Sun protection factor, the number next to SPF reflects the amount of time you can be in the sun and avoid burning.
SPF 15 will block about 93% of UV rays
SPF 30 will block about 97%
SPF 50 will block about 98%
SPF100 will block about 99%
Because I have sensitive skin I am partial to sunblocks! I use à 1/4 of tsp for my face and neck.
For the body i use SPF 30 and reapply every 2 hours.
